1618. And I also conclude that the world of spirits likewise animates the organism, but from below, or from without. Since that world is of such a character that it disjoined itself from the inward heaven, therefore its workings are certainly into the bodily organism, but into its outward one. Hence the outward person is of such a character that it cannot be joined to the inward person except in the same way as heaven and the world of spirits are joined, namely through spirits of the kind that are able to be led by the inward heaven.
