Of course, those who become wise from without are therefore acquainted with truths, whether from the Word of the Lord, or from the sciences by means of which they try to penetrate to the deeper knowledge of spiritual and heavenly matters. These are able to so well imitate what is genuine, that one who does not have saving faith may be utterly fooled. For the Lord reveals to one who has saving faith, in spiritual mental images and in an inexpressible manner, that a thing is true.
