I spoke with spirits about uses, namely that all the organic parts in the human being, all their bodily parts-in short, all the bodily parts in both the animate and the vegetable kingdoms-have been formed for use and according to use, and it is use, as it were, that formed them: and that one who views organic parts from use can then see the connection of the parts, but not if one [concludes] about the use from the parts.
