2633. In the Word sometimes clouds are mentioned, by which are meant truths when bright, and falsities when black. But the bright clouds, which are truths, appear according to the quality of the person seeing them, so that to those who are immersed in falsity, black clouds appear as bright, and bright clouds as dark, as on Mount Sinai [Exod. 19:16, 24:15-18], and at other times before the eyes of the people, who were steeped in falsity. 1748, 17 July.
