385. They who love libraries as their riches, and fill themselves up reading books, likewise stay in rooms befitting the degree of that passion, and its motives
Those possessed of a passion for mere reading, and for remembering the things read for the sake of praise and reputation, appear to themselves to dwell in underground places, and to have books there, and candles, which now and then go out; and they seem to themselves to be reading.
