464. Saying, Amen.- That this signifies the Lord in regard to Divine Truth from Divine Good, is evident from the signification of Amen, as denoting truth. And because the Lord is truth itself, as He Himself teaches in John (xiv. 6), therefore Amen, in the highest sense, signifies the Lord in regard to Divine Truth; this therefore is here the signification of Amen, because it is uttered to the Lord by the angels of the three heavens. It is here said, Amen, in the first place, and also in the last, to signify that the Lord, in regard to Divine Truth from Divine Good, is in primaries and in ultimates, or that the Lord Himself is the First and the Last; for Divine Truth united to Divine Good is the Lord in the heavens, this being the proceeding, Divine from which are all things of heaven, and heaven itself, as shown in Heaven and Hell (n. 13, 126-140, 275). That to be in primaries and ultimates signifies to be in all, may be seen also above (n. 41, 417), and in the Arcana Coelestia (n. 10044, 10329, 10335); and that Amen signifies the Lord as to Divine Truth, may be seen above (n. 228).
