'Prepared in an hour in a day and a month and a year, that they might slay a third part of the men' signifies those in a perpetual endeavour to take away spiritual light and life from the men of the Church. By 'to be prepared' is signified to be in an endeavour; by 'hour', 'day', 'month' and 'year' is signified continually and perpetually, the same as by every period of time. By 'to slay' is signified to take away spiritual light and life from the men of the Church (n. 325); and by 'a third part' are signified all (n. 400).
