By 'the sixth angel pouring out his phial' is signified, here as before, an influx. By 'the great river Euphrates' is signified interior reasonings, in like manner as above (n. 444, 445), here the interior reasonings of that Church by which they confirm justification by faith alone, because it treats of these in the things now following.
