47. That in Christ God is Man, and Man God, is confirmed three times in the Formula Concordiae; and also in the Athanasian Creed, where it treats of the "assumption of the Human into God;" from the Word (Rom. 14:11; Coloss. 2:9; 1 John 5:20, 21), as well as by the declaration of the Lord Himself, that "the Father and Himself are one;" that "the Father is in Him, and He in the Father;" that "all things of the Father are His;" that "He has Life in Himself;" that "He is the God of heaven and earth"; etc.
