124. (VII.) He loves the neighbor who loves the neighbor from charity in himself. He conjoins himself with the neighbor's good, and not with his person. If, therefore, the person departs from good he does not love him. And this conjunction is a spiritual conjunction, because in the spiritual idea good is the neighbor.
