Bring a single example, where someone preaches devoutly on the above things from the Word; and, when his orthodoxy is brought to bear upon them, you will see that all things that I have seen and said are true. (Let an example illustrate this . . .) Thus, they affirm, and then deny, if orthodoxy is in the internal man and the above-mentioned preached in the external. In this case that which then remains in the external man is of no account and becomes like froth. It is as if there were an earthquake, or as if a ship in the water were wrecked from below.
