1612. That 'arise, walk through the land' means in order that He might survey the heavenly kingdom is clear from the meaning of 'land' as the heavenly kingdom, dealt with frequently already. In the sense of the letter 'arising and walking through the land' is discovering and seeing the nature of it, and therefore in the internal sense, in which 'the land' or the land of Canaan means the kingdom of God in the heavens, which is heaven, and the kingdom of God on earth, which is the Church, surveying and also perceiving is meant.
