4254. 'I am not worthy of all the mercies and of all the truth which You have shown to Your servant' means an expression, in that state, of humbleness before good and before truth. This is clear from the use of the word 'mercy' which has reference to the good of love, and from the use of the word 'truth' which has reference to the truth of faith, see 3122; for they are words that obviously belong to an expression of humbleness. From this it becomes clear that an expression, in that state, of humbleness before good and before truth is meant here.
