7196. 'To give them the land of Canaan' means through which joining together they are raised into heaven. This is clear from the meaning of 'the land of Canaan' as the Lord's kingdom in heaven, and as the Church, dealt with in 1607, 3038, 3481, 3705, 4447, 6516. Being raised into heaven is plainly meant by 'giving them the land', for those to whom heaven is given are raised up.
