Spirits of this kind have the effect of spreading quite widely their fantasies regarding spiritual things, and seemingly closing off the ideas of others so that they can hardly understand spiritual things differently from them. So unless they are reduced to a different state of mind, they cannot in the meantime possibly be in the groups of those who are spiritual. Whether they can be in groups of the heavenly, I cannot as yet tell-only that if they can, then their thoughts about the causes of things, and like subjects, would have to be removed. 1748, 11 June.
