151. * About this speech, I can also testify that I have heard it in an almost waking sleep, and in fact, at the time, I seemed to understand its meaning; yet upon thinking back on it, it was inexpressible. But these matters cannot be told about in a way that the understanding may grasp them, for they are above its realm, and what is above this is not understood. Who, for example, can believe that the soul, which is properly human, simultaneously and as though instantaneously, holds all and the least elements in order in the greatest and in the smallest parts [of man], where so many, such a countless number of different elements exist?
