183. * were in the innermost regions, or who supposed they were in them, so that they might see whether they were in the innermosts, as they believed. But from the above-mentioned characteristic, they would know whether they are there. For all do not know differently, before being instructed, than that they are most deeply [there], in which matter they are of course mistaken, but are still kept in this opinion.
