Just for this reason, I have been given by God the Messiah, from pure mercy, to learn what Abraham, what Jacob, and what Moses had been like, for in heaven they are just like they had been in life. Sometimes I was in doubt as to whether they were the same persons, or whether they had been depicted to me through others, as also happens. I spoke about this matter, and was allowed to investigate it in various ways, with the result that I have been led to believe that they were indeed the same persons; nor were they able to deny it, although they wished to do so for the reasons spoken of earlier [cf. 239].
