In the same way also later on, when God the Messiah wished to pass over from the Jewish people to the Gentiles, Moses, by his supplications, held God the Messiah so bound that Balaam, who was a prophet of God the Messiah, was unable to curse the Jewish people itself. About this matter, see Numbers, Chapters 22-24, and elsewhere [see Deut. 23:4-5, Josh. 24:9-10]. But how Moses interceded on that occasion on behalf of the Jewish people may be seen in that place [Num. 14:13-19]. There was also Abraham, who was then permitted to intercede on behalf of the people of Jacob; for no one can intercede for anyone except it be by permission. This, however, is happening in remembrance of his belief, when he was alive.
