NUMBERS 30

And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the sons of Israel, and said, This is the thing which Yehowah has commanded. 2 When a man makes a vow to Yehowah, or swears an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he shall not break his word; he shall do everything which proceeds from his mouth. 3 But when a woman makes a vow to Yehowah, and binds herself by a pledge while in her father's house in her youth, 4 and her father hears of her vow and her pledge by which she has bound herself, and her father says nothing to her, then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she has bound herself shall stand. 5 But if her father forbids her on the day when he hears of it, none of her vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand; and Yehowah will forgive her, because her father forbade her. 6 And if she belongs to a husband, while under her vows or a rash utterance of her lips by which she has bound herself, 7 and her husband hears of it and says nothing to her on the day when he hears of it, then her vows shall stand, and her pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand. 8 But if her husband forbids her on the day when he hears of it, then he shall make void her vow which is on her, and the rash utterance of her lips by which she has bound herself; and Yehowah will forgive her. 9 But as for the vow of a widow or a divorced woman, everything by which she has bound herself shall stand against her. 10 And if a woman vows in her husband's house, or binds herself by a pledge with an oath, 11 and her husband hears of it, and says nothing to her, and does not forbid her, then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she bound herself shall stand. 12 But if her husband makes them null and void on the day when he hears of them, then whatever proceeds from her lips concerning her vow and her personal pledge shall not stand; her husband has made them void, and Yehowah will forgive her. 13 Her husband may allow or make void every vow and every binding oath to afflict her. 14 But if her husband remains silent about it from day to day, then he is allowing all her vows or pledges which are on her; he allows them because he was silent about it on the day when he heard of them. 15 But if he makes them null and void after he has heard of them, then he shall bear her iniquity.

16 These are the statutes which Yehowah commanded Moses, as between a man and his wife, and between a father and his daughter while in her youth in her father's house.
