265. Behold, the Lion hath prevailed, signifies the Lord, that from His own power He had subjugated the hells, and reduced all things to order when He was in the world. That "a lion" signifies the Divine truth of the Word as to its power, may be seen above (n. 241); and because the Lord is the Divine truth itself, or the Word, He is called "a Lion." That the Lord, when He was in the world, subjugated the hells and reduced all things in the heavens to order, and likewise glorified His Human, may be seen above (n. 67); and how He did this, may be seen in The Doctrine of the New Jerusalem concerning the Lord (n. 12-14). Hence it is evident, what is meant by "the Lion hath prevailed."
