9. A man who has thoroughly confirmed himself in the faith and doctrine of the present-day Church, may make no account of repentance, of the law of the Decalogue, nor of works and charity. For he can say, "I cannot do good from myself; these things are included in faith, whence they proceed one by one without my knowing it"; and so forth. This, also, is the source of the naturalism which prevails at the present time.
