959. THAT THOSE WHO CONSTITUTE THE PROVINCE OF THE KIDNEYS, URETERS, AND BLADDER WANT TO EXPLORE Whenever a soul approaches, he is met by those who constitute the province of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder, who are at hand that they may examine or explore him. They desire to find reasons wherever they can, and diligently seek them. But their desire to explore is for the sake of chastising and punishing, the cupidity of which gives them great delight. They are able, however, only to explore those things which the soul has taken with him from the body; for the kidneys, ureters, and bladder filter out from the blood, thus from corporeal things, only things worn-out and filthy. 1748, Feb. 23.
