LEVITICUS 14
Now Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 This is the law for anyone with defiled skin on the day of his cleansing. He shall be brought to the priest; 3 and the priest shall go outside the camp. And the priest shall look, and then if the defiling disease is healed in the person defiled, 4 the priest shall command people to take two living clean birds, cedar wood, some double-dyed scarlet, and hyssop for the one who is to be cleansed; 5 and the priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthenware vessel over running water. 6 And he shall take the living bird with the cedar wood, the double-dyed scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them together with the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water. 7 And he shall sprinkle it seven times on the one who is to be cleansed from the defilement, pronounce him clean, and release the living bird in the open fields. 8 And he who is being cleansed shall wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe in water, and in this way become clean; and after that he may come into the camp, but must live outside his tent for seven days. 9 Then on the seventh day he shall shave all the hair from his head, beard, and eyebrows; he shall shave off all his hair. And he shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and in this way become clean.
10 Then on the eighth day he shall take two he-lambs without a blemish, one ewe-lamb in its first year, without a blemish, three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain-offering, and one logh of oil. 11 And the priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed together with those things before Yehowah at the door of the tent of meeting. 12 Then the priest shall take one of the he-lambs, and present it for a guilt-offering, along with the logh of oil, and shall set them aside as an offering before Yehowah. 13 And he shall slaughter the lamb in the place where he slaughters the sin-offering and the burnt-offering, in the sanctuary; for, like the sin-offering, the guilt-offering is the priest's; it is most holy. 14 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt-offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of the one who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 15 And the priest shall take some of the logh of oil, and pour it into his own left palm. 16 And the priest shall dip his right finger in the oil which is in his left palm, and sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yehowah; 17 and the priest shall put some of the rest of the oil in his palm on the tip of the right ear of the one who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt-offering. 18 And the remainder of the oil in the priest's palm he shall put on the head of the one who is to be cleansed; and the priest shall make a reconciliation for him before Yehowah. 19 Then the priest shall offer the sin-offering, and shall make a reconciliation for the one who is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterwards he shall slaughter the burnt-offering. 20 And the priest shall present the burnt-offering and the grain-offering on the altar; and the priest shall make a reconciliation for him, and he shall be clean.
21 But if he is poor and cannot afford so much, he shall take one he-lamb for a guilt-offering to be set aside, to make a reconciliation for himself, and one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain-offering, and a logh of oil; 22 also two turtledoves or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get, and one shall be a sin-offering and the other a burnt-offering. 23 Then on the eighth day he shall bring them to the priest for his cleansing, to the door of the tent of meeting, before Yehowah. 24 And the priest shall take the lamb of the guilt-offering and the logh of oil, and the priest shall set them aside as an offering before Yehowah. 25 And he shall slaughter the lamb of the guilt-offering, and the priest shall take some of the blood of the guilt-offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of the one who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 26 Then the priest shall pour some of the oil into his own left palm; 27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left palm seven times before Yehowah; 28 and the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his palm on the tip of the right ear of the one who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, over the place of the blood of the guilt-offering. 29 And the remainder of the oil in the priest's palm he shall put on the head of the one who is to be cleansed, to make a reconciliation for him before Yehowah. 30 Then he shall offer each of the turtledoves or young pigeons, such as he can afford- 31 just as he is able to acquire them-the one for a sin-offering and the other for a burnt-offering, together with the grain-offering; so the priest shall make a reconciliation for the one who is to be cleansed before Yehowah. 32 This is the law for anyone in whom there is a defiling skin disease, who cannot afford what is needed for his cleansing.
33 And Yehowah spoke to Moses and Aaron, and said, 34 When you have come into the land of Canaan which I give to you for a possession, if I put a defiling disease in a house in the land of your possession, 35 the owner of the house shall come and tell the priest, and say, It seems to me that there is a disease in the house. 36 Then the priest shall command people to empty the house before the priest goes in to see the disease, so that all that is in the house shall not be made unclean; and afterwards the priest shall go in to see the house. 37 And he shall examine the disease, and then if the disease is in the walls of the house, with greenish or reddish hollows which appear to be deeper than the wall, 38 the priest shall go out of the house to its outer door, and shall shut up the house for seven days. 39 And the priest shall come again on the seventh day, and shall look; and then if the disease has spread in the walls of the house, 40 the priest shall command the people to take out the stones which have the disease; and they shall throw them into an unclean place outside the city. 41 And he shall cause the house to be scraped all round inside, and the plaster which they scrape off they shall tip into an unclean place outside the city. 42 Then they shall get other stones, and put them in place of those stones; and he shall take fresh plaster, and plaster the house.
43 But if the disease returns and breaks out in the house after he has taken the stones out, and after scraping the house and after replastering it, 44 the priest shall go in and look, and then if the disease has spread in the house, it is a persistent defilement in the house; it is unclean. 45 So he shall pull down the house, its stones and timber and all the plaster of the house; and he shall carry them from the city to an unclean place. 46 And whoever goes into the house at any time while it is shut up shall be unclean till the evening. 47 And whoever lies down in the house shall wash his clothes; and whoever eats in the house shall wash his clothes.
48 If, however, the priest goes in and looks, and finds that the disease has not spread in the house after the house has been plastered, the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the disease is healed. 49 And to cleanse the house he shall take two birds, some cedar wood, double-dyed scarlet, and hyssop. 50 And he shall kill one of the birds in an earthenware vessel over running water; 51 and he shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the double-dyed scarlet, and the living bird, and shall dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed and in the running water, and shall sprinkle the house seven times. 52 So he shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird and the running water, and with the living bird, the cedar wood, the hyssop, and the double-dyed scarlet. 53 And he shall release the living bird outside the city in the open fields, and shall make a reconciliation for the house; and it shall be clean.
54 This is the law concerning every kind of defiling disease and scurfy patch, 55 and concerning the defilement of clothing and of a house, 56 and concerning a scab, an eruption, and an inflamed spot, 57 to teach when it is unclean and when it is clean; this is the law concerning defilement.
