LEVITICUS 13

Then Yehowah spoke to Moses and Aaron, and said, 2 When a man has a scab, an eruption, or an inflamed spot on the skin of his body, and it becomes a defiling disease on his body, he shall he brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests. 3 And the priest shall examine the disease on the skin of the body; and if the hair in the disease has turned white, and the disease appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a defiling disease; and the priest shall look at him and pronounce him unclean. 4 But if the inflamed spot on the skin of his body is white, and appears to be no deeper than the skin, and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest shall confine the man with the disease for seven days. 5 And the priest shall examine him on the seventh day; and then if in his view the disease has stopped and has not spread on the skin, the priest shall confine him for another seven days. 6 And the priest shall examine him again on the seventh day; and then if the disease has faded and has not spread on the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean; it is only an eruption. So the man shall wash his clothes and be clean. 7 But if the eruption spreads around on the skin after he has shown himself to the priest for his cleansing, he shall be seen by the priest again. 8 And the priest shall look, and then if the eruption has spread on the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a defilement.

9 When a defiling skin disease is on a man, he shall be brought to the priest. 10 And the priest shall look, and then if there is a white scab on the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and raw flesh remains in the scab, 11 it is a chronic defilement on the skin of his body, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean; he shall not confine him, for he is unclean. 12 And if the defilement breaks out on the skin, and the defilement covers all the skin of the man with the disease from his head to his feet so far as the priest can see, 13 the priest shall look, and then if the defilement has covered all his body, he shall pronounce him clean of the disease; it has all turned white; he is clean. 14 But on the day when raw flesh appears on him, he shall be unclean. 15 And the priest shall examine the raw flesh and pronounce him unclean; the raw flesh is unclean; it is a defilement. 16 Or if the raw flesh re-appears and becomes white, he shall go to the priest; 17 and the priest shall examine him, and then if the disease has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him clean of the disease; he is clean.

18 And when there is a boil on the body, on the skin, and it has healed, 19 and in place of the boil there is a white scab, or an inflamed spot that is reddish-white, it shall be shown to the priest. 20 And the priest shall look, and then if it appears to be deeper than the skin and the hair on it has turned white, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a defiling disease; it has broken out into a boil. 21 But if the priest examines it, and then there are no white hairs on it, and it is no deeper than the skin and has faded, the priest shall confine him for seven days; 22 then if it spreads on the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a disease. 23 But if the inflamed spot remains in one place and does not spread, it is an inflammation of the boil; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

24 Or when the body has a scar from a burn on its skin, and the raw flesh of the scar has an inflamed spot, reddish-white or white, 25 the priest shall examine it, and then if the hair has turned white on the inflamed spot, and it appears to be deeper than the skin, it is a defilement broken out in the scar, and the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a defiling disease. 26 But if the priest examines it, and then there is no white hair on the inflamed spot and it is no deeper than the skin and has faded, the priest shall confine him for seven days. 27 And the priest shall examine him on the seventh day; if it has spread on the skin, the priest shall pronounce him unclean; it is a defiling disease. 28 But if the inflamed spot remains in one place and does not spread on the skin and has faded, it is a scab on the scar, and the priest shall pronounce him clean; for it is an inflammation of the scar.

29 And when a man or a woman has a disease on the head, or in the heard, 30 the priest shall examine the disease, and then if it appears to be deeper than the skin and there is yellow thin hair on it, the priest shall pronounce the person unclean; it is a scurfy patch; it is a defilement of the head or the beard. 31 But if the priest examines the disease in the scurfy patch, and then it appears to be no deeper than the skin and there is no black hair on it, the priest shall confine the person with the disease of the scurfy patch for seven days. 32 And the priest shall examine the disease on the seventh day; and then if the scurfy patch has not spread and there is no yellow hair on it, and the scurfy patch appears to be no deeper than the skin, 33 the man shall shave himself, but he shall not shave the scurfy patch; and the priest shall confine the person with the scurfy patch for another seven days. 34 And the priest shall examine the scurfy patch on the seventh day; and then if the scurfy patch has not spread on the skin and it appears to be no deeper than the skin, the priest shall pronounce him clean; and he shall wash his clothes and be clean. 35 But if the scurfy patch spreads on the skin after his cleansing, 36 the priest shall examine him; and then if the scurfy patch has spread on the skin, the priest shall not search for the yellow hair; the man is unclean. 37 But if in his view the scurfy patch has stopped and black hair has grown on it, the scurfy patch is healed; he is clean; and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

38 And if a man or a woman has inflamed spots on the skin of their body, and the spots are white, 39 the priest shall look; and then if the inflamed spots on the skin of their body are dull white, it is a rash that has broken out on the skin; the person is unclean.

40 Now if a man's head becomes hairless, he is bald but he is clean. 41 And if his head becomes hairless from his temples, he has forehead baldness but he is clean. 42 But if there is a reddish-white disease on the bald head or forehead, it is a defilement breaking out on his bald head or his forehead. 43 So the priest shall examine it; and then if the scab of the disease is reddish-white on his bald head or his forehead, as the defilement appears on the skin of the body, 44 he is a defiled person, he is unclean; the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his disease is on his head.

45 Now anyone defiled by a disease shall wear torn clothes, his head shall be uncovered, he shall mask his upper lip, and he shall cry out, Unclean, unclean. 46 He shall be unclean throughout the time that the disease is in him; he is unclean. He shall live alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.

47 And when any clothing has a defiling disease in it, woollen or linen clothing, 48 yarn or cloth of linen or wool, or skin or anything made of skin, 49 if the disease is greenish or reddish in the clothing, skin, yarn, cloth, or any article of skin, it is a defiling disease; and it shall be shown to the priest. 50 And the priest shall examine the disease, and shall confine the thing with the disease for seven days; 51 then he shall examine the disease on the seventh day; if the disease has spread in the clothing, yarn, cloth, or skin (whatever work the skin is used for), the disease is a persistent defilement; it is unclean. 52 And he shall burn the clothing, yarn, cloth of wool or linen, or any article of skin which has the disease; for it is a persistent defilement; it shall be burnt in a fire.

53 But if the priest looks, and then the disease has not spread in the clothing, yarn, cloth, or any article of skin, 54 the priest shall command that they wash the thing which has the disease, and he shall confine it for another seven days. 55 And the priest shall examine the disease after the article has been washed, and then if the disease has not changed its colour, though it has not spread, it is still unclean; you shall burn it in a fire; it is rotting at the back or at the front.

56 But if the priest looks, and then the disease has faded after the article has been washed, he shall tear it out of the clothing or the skin, or out of the yarn or the cloth. 57 However, if it appears again in the clothing, yarn, cloth, or any article of skin, it is spreading; you shall burn in a fire whatever has the disease. 58 And if the disease has disappeared from the clothing, yarn, cloth, or any article of skin which you have washed, it shall be washed a second time, and shall be clean.

59 This is the law concerning a defiling disease in any clothing of wool or linen, or yarn, cloth, or any article of skin, to pronounce it to be clean or unclean.
