LEVITICUS 24
Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Command the sons of Israel to bring to you pure olive oil beaten out for the light, to enable the lamp to burn continually. 3 Aaron shall tend it outside the veil of the Testimony, in the tent of meeting, from evening till morning, before Yehowah continually; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations. 4 He shall tend the lamps on the pure lampstand before Yehowah continually.
5 And you shall take some fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it, two-tenths of an ephak in each cake. 6 And you shall place them in two rows,* six in a row, on the pure table before Yehowah. 7 And you shall put pure frankincense upon each Low, so that it may go with the bread for a memorial as a fire-offering to Yehowah. 8 Aaron shall set it out in order before Yehowah every sabbath day continually; it is from the sons of Israel as an everlasting covenant. 9 And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is to him the most holy of the fire-offerings to Yehowah; it shall be a perpetual statute. * Or piles
10 Now the son of an Israelite woman and an Egyptian went out among the sons of Israel; and this son of the Israelite woman quarrelled with an Israelite in the camp, 11 and the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed; so they brought him to Moses. Now his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan. 12 And they put him in custody, so that the matter could be decided for them at the mouth of Yehowah.
13 Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 14 Bring the man who has cursed out of the camp; and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let the whole congregation stone him. 15 And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, and say, Every man who curses his God shall bear his sin. 16 And whoever blasphemes the name of Yehowah must be put to death; all the congregation must stone him. Both settlers and homeborn who blaspheme the Name shall be put to death. 17 And whoever strikes a man mortally must be put to death; 18 and whoever strikes an animal mortally shall make it good; life for life. 19 And if a man disfigures his neighbour, it shall be done to him as he has done: 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As he has disfigured the man, it shall be done to him. 21 And whoever strikes down an animal shall make it good; and whoever strikes down a man shall be put to death. 22 You shall have the same standard of judgment for both settlers and homeborn; for I am Yehowah your God.
23 Then Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and they brought the man who had cursed out of the camp, and they stoned him to death. So the sons of Israel did as Yehowah commanded Moses.
