LEVITICUS 23

Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, These are the appointed seasons of Yehowah, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations; they are my appointed seasons. 3 Work shall be done for six days, but on the seventh day there shall be a sabbath of rest, a holy convocation; you shall do no work; it shall be a sabbath to Yehowah wherever you live.

4 These are the appointed seasons of Yehowah, the holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at their appointed times. 5 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month when night has fallen, the Passover to Yehowah. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month, the Feast of Unleavened Bread to Yehowah; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. 7 You shall have a holy convocation on the first day; you shall do no laborious work. 8 But you shall make a fire-offering to Yehowah for seven days; there shall be a holy convocation on the seventh day; you shall do no laborious work.

9 And Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 10 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, When you have come into the land which I give to you, and you reap its harvest, you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest. 11 Then he shall set the sheaf aside before Yehowah so that you may be accepted; the priest shall set it aside on the day after the sabbath. 12 And on the day when you set the sheaf aside you shall offer a he-lamb in its first year, without a blemish, for a burnt-offering to Yehowah. 13 And the grain-offering with it shall be two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, a fire-offering to Yehowah for an odour of rest; and the drink-offering with it shall be a quarter of a hin of wine. 14 And you shall eat neither bread nor parched corn nor fresh ears, till the very day when you bring the gift to your God; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations wherever you live.

15 And from the day after the sabbath, from the day when you bring the sheaf of the offering set aside, you shall reckon seven sabbaths to be completed; 16 till the day after the seventh sabbath you shall reckon fifty days; then you shall offer a new grain-offering to Yehowah. 17 You shall bring from your dwellings two loaves to be set aside, made with two-tenths of an ephah; they shall be of fine flour baked with leaven, as first fruits to Yehowah. 18 And with the bread you shall present seven he-lambs in their first year, without a blemish, with one young bull and two rams; they shall be a burnt-offering to Yehowah, with their grain-offering and drink-offerings, a fire-offering, an odour of rest to Yehowah. 19 And you shall offer one he-goat from the flock for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs in their first year for a sacrifice of communion-offerings. 20 And the priest shall offer them with the bread of the first fruits, as an offering set aside before Yehowah, together with the two lambs; they shall be holy to Yehowah for the priest. 21 And you shall make a proclamation on that day; it shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall do no laborious work. It shall be a perpetual statute wherever you live throughout your generations.

22 And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap right up to the edges of your fields when you reap, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest; you shall leave them for the poor and for the settlers; I am Yehowah your God.

23 And Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 24 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath, a memorial with the blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall do no laborious work; and you shall present a fire-offering to Yehowah.

26 And Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 27 Also, on the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Reconciliation, a holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves; and you shall present a fire-offering to Yehowah. 28 And you shall do no work on that day; for it is the Day of Reconciliation, to make a reconciliation for yourselves before Yehowah your God. 29 For whoever is not afflicted on that same day shall be cut off from his people. 30 And whoever does any work on that same day I will destroy from among his people. 31 You shall do no work; it shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations wherever you live. 32 It shall be a sabbath of rest for you, and you shall afflict yourselves; on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from one evening to the next, you shall celebrate your sabbath.

33 Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 34 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven more days is the Feast of Booths to Yehowah. 35 On the first day there shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no laborious work. 36 For seven days you shall present a fire-offering to Yehowah; on the eighth day there shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall present a fire-offering to Yehowah; it is a solemn assembly; you shall do no laborious work.

37 These are the appointed seasons of Yehowah, which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present a fire-offering to Yehowah, with burnt-offerings and grain-offerings, sacrifices and drink-offerings, each on its day; 38 besides the sabbaths of Yehowah, and besides your gifts, and all your vow-offerings, and all your freewill-offerings, which you give to Yehowah.

39 Also, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall keep the feast of Yehowah for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day a sabbath. 40 And on the first day you shall take for yourselves fruit from fine trees, palm fronds, interwoven tree branches, and willows from the river; and you shall rejoice before Yehowah your God for seven days. 41 And you shall keep it as a feast to Yehowah for seven days in the year. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you shall keep it in the seventh month. 42 You shall live in booths for seven days; all who are homeborn in Israel shall live in booths, 43 so that your generations may know that I made the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt; I am Yehowah your God.

44 So Moses declared to the sons of Israel the appointed seasons of Yehowah.
