EXODUS 29

Now this is the thing which you shall do to them to sanctify them as priests to me. Take one young bull from the herd, two rams without a blemish, 2 unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers smeared with oil; you shall make them of fine wheat flour. 3 And you shall put them in one basket and bring them in the basket, and also you shall bring the bull and the two rams. 4 Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the tent of meeting, and wash them in water. 5 And you shall take the robes, and clothe Aaron with the tunic, the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breastpiece; and you shall gird him with the sash of the ephod; 6 and you shall set the turban on his head, and put the sacred crown on the turban. 7 Then you shall take the anointing oil and pour it on his head, and anoint him. 8 And you shall bring his sons, and clothe them with tunics; 9 and you shall gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons, and bind skull-caps on them. And the priesthood shall be theirs by a statute for ever; so shall you consecrate Aaron and his sons.

10 Then you shall bring the bull to the front of the tent of meeting; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the bull's head. 11 And you shall slaughter the bull before Yehowah, at the door of the tent of meeting; 12 and you shall take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and shall pour out all the blood at the base of the altar. 13 And you shall take all the fat covering the entrails, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them; and you shall burn them on the altar. 14 But you shall burn the bull's flesh, and its skin and its dung, in a fire outside the camp; it is a sin-offering.

15 Then you shall take one of the rams; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram; 16 and you shall slaughter the ram; and you shall take its blood, and fling it all round against the altar. 17 Then you shall cut the ram into its parts, and wash its entrails and its legs, and put them on its parts and its head; 18 and you shall burn the whole ram on the altar; it is a burnt-offering to Yehowah; it is an odour of rest, a fire-offering to Yehowah.

19 Then you shall take the other ram; and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the ram's head; 20 and you shall slaughter the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear and on the tips of the right ears of his sons, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet; and you shall fling the blood all round against the altar. 21 Then you shall take some of the blood which is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and shall sprinkle them on Aaron and his robes, and on his sons and the robes of his sons who are with him; and he shall be holy, he and his robes, and his sons and the robes of his sons who are with him.

22 You shall also take from the ram the fat and the fat tail, and the fat covering the entrails, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the right thigh (for it is a ram of consecration), 23 and one loaf of bread, and one cake of bread with oil, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread which is before Yehowah. 24 And you shall put all these on Aaron's palms and the palms of his sons; and you shall set them aside as an offering before Yehowah. 25 Then you shall take them from their hands, and burn them on the altar on the burnt-offering, for an odour of rest before Yehowah; it is a fire-offering to Yehowah.

26 And you shall take the breast from the ram of consecration which is Aaron's, and set it aside as an offering before Yehowah; and it shall be your portion. 27 And you shall sanctify the breast of the offering set aside and the thigh of the reserved-offering, which are set aside and reserved from the ram of consecration, from what is for Aaron and his sons. 28 And it shall be for Aaron and his sons by a statute for ever from the sons of Israel, for it is a reserved-offering. And it shall be a reserved-offering from the sons of Israel from the sacrifices of their communion-offerings, their reserved-offering to Yehowah.

29 And Aaron's sacred robes shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them and consecrated in them. 30 For seven days the priest who succeeds him from among his sons shall put them on, when he comes into the tent of meeting to minister in the sanctuary.

31 Then you shall take the ram of consecration, and boil its flesh in a holy place; 32 and Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram and the bread which is in the basket, at the door of the tent of meeting. 33 And they shall eat those things by which a reconciliation was made, to consecrate them and make them holy; but no outsider shall eat them, for they are holy. 34 And if anything of the flesh of the consecration, or of the bread, remains until the morning, then you shall burn what remains in a fire; it shall not be eaten, for it is holy.

35 So you shall do to Aaron and his sons all that I have commanded you; throughout seven days you shall consecrate them; 36 and every day you shall offer a bull as a sin-offering for a reconciliation. And you shall cleanse the altar from sin when you make a reconciliation on it; and you shall anoint it to sanctify it. 37 You shall make a reconciliation on the altar, and sanctify it, for seven days. And the altar shall be most holy; everyone who touches the altar shall be holy.

38 Now this is what you shall offer on the altar; two lambs in their first year every day continually. 39 You shall offer the first lamb in the morning, and you shall offer the second lamb when night has fallen; 40 and with the first lamb a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of beaten oil, and for a drink-offering a quarter of a hin of wine. 41 And you shall offer the second lamb when night has fallen, and you shall do with it as with the grain-offering in the morning, and as with the drink-offering then, for an odour of rest, a fire-offering to Yehowah, 42 a continual burnt-offering throughout your generations at the door of the tent of meeting before Yehowah, where I will meet with you and speak with you there. 43 And there I will meet with the sons of Israel, and it shall be sanctified by my glory; 44 and I will sanctify the tent of meeting and the altar and I will sanctify Aaron and his sons to be priests to me. 45 And I will live in the midst of the sons of Israel, and I will be their God. 46 And they shall know that I am Yehowah their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, so that I may live in their midst; I am Yehowah their God.
