LEVITICUS 4

Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say, If any person sins inadvertently against any of the commandments of Yehowah concerning what ought not to be done, and acts against any of them, 3 if it is the anointed priest who sins, thus making the people guilty, then let him bring for his sin which he has committed a young bull from the herd, without a blemish, to Yehowah for a sin-offering. 4 And he shall bring the young bull to the door of the tent of meeting before Yehowah, and shall lay his hand on the head of the bull, and slaughter the bull before Yehowah. 5 And the anointed priest shall take some of the blood of the bull, and shall bring it to the tent of meeting. 6 Then the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and shall sprinkle some of the blood seven times before Yehowah on to the veil of the sanctuary. 7 And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of incense of spices before Yehowah, which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour out all the blood of the bull at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of The tent of meeting. 8 Then he shall remove from it all the fat of the bull of the sin-offering: the fat covering the entrails, and all the fat that is on the entrails, 9 and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, which are by the loins; and he shall take away the lobe of the liver above the kidneys 10 (as it was removed from the bull of the sacrifice of communion-offerings); and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt-offering. 11 Then the skin of the bull and all its flesh, with its head and its legs, and its entrails and its dung, 12 that is, the whole of the bull, he shall carry outside the camp to a clean Place where the ashes are poured out, and shall burn it on a fire of wood; it shall be burnt where the ashes are poured out.

13 But if it is the whole congregation of Israel that errs, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they act against any one of the commandments of Yehowah concerning what should not be done, and are guilty, 14 then when the sin which they have committed against it is known, the assembly shall present a young bull from the herd for a sin-offering, and shall bring it before the tent of meeting. 15 And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the bull's head before Yehowah; and the bull shall be slaughtered before Yehowah. 16 Then the anointed priest shall bring some of the bull's blood to the tent of meeting; 17 and the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Yehowah on to the veil. 18 And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before Yehowah, which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour out all the blood at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting. 19 Then he shall remove all its fat from it, and shall burn it on the altar. 20 And he shall do with the bull as he did with the bull of the sin-offering; he shall do the same with it. And the priest shall make a reconciliation for them, and they shall be forgiven. 21 Then he shall carry the bull outside the camp, and shall burn it as he burnt the first bull; it is a sin-offering for the assembly.

22 If it is a ruler who sins, and acts inadvertently against any one of the commandments of Yehowah his God concerning what should not be done, and he is guilty, 23 when his sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring as his gift a he-goat from the flock,* a male without a blemish. 24 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and shall slaughter it in the place where they slaughter the burnt-offering before Yehowah; it is a sin-offering. 25 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and shall pour out its blood at the base of the altar of burnt-offering. 26 Then he shall burn all its fat on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of communion-offerings; so the priest shall make a reconciliation for him on account of his sin, and he shall be forgiven. * That is the goat-flock

27 But if it is any ordinary person of the people of the land who sins inadvertently in acting against one of the commandments of Yehowah concerning what ought not to be done, and he is guilty, 28 when his sin which he has committed is made known to him, he shall bring as his gift a she-goat from the flock, a female without a blemish, for his sin which he has committed. 29 And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and shall slaughter the sin-offering in the place for the burnt-offering. 30 Then the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and shall pour out all its blood at the base of the altar. 31 Then he shall remove all its fat, as the fat is removed from the sacrifice of communion-offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar for an odour of rest to Yehowah. So the priest shall make a reconciliation for him, and he shall be forgiven.

32 Or if he brings a lamb as his gift for a sin-offering, he shall bring a female without a blemish; 33 and he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and shall slaughter it for a sin-offering in the place where they slaughter the burnt-offering. 34 Then the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and shall pour out all its blood at the base of the altar. 35 Then he shall take away all its fat, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of communion-offerings; and the priest shall burn it on the altar, upon the fire-offerings to Yehowah. So the priest shall make a reconciliation for him on account of his sin which he has committed, and he shall be forgiven.
