EXODUS 25

Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Tell the sons of Israel to take an offering for me; from every one whose heart is willing, you shall take my offering. 3 And this is the offering which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; 4 violet, purple, double-dyed scarlet, fine linen, and goats' hair; 5 rams' skins dyed red, badgers'* skins, and acacia** wood; 6 oil for the light; perfumes for the anointing oil and the incense of spices; 7 shoham stones and stones for settings, for the ephod and the breastpiece. 8 And they shall make me a sanctuary so that I may live in their midst. 9 In accordance with all that I show you as to the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, exactly so you shall make it. * Heb tahash The identification of this creature is uncertain ** Heb shittim

10 And they shall make an ark of acacia wood; its length is to be two and a half cubits, its breadth one and a half cubits, and its height one and a half cubits. 11 And you shall overlay it with pure gold; you shall overlay it inside and out; and you shall make a rim of gold all round it. 12 And you shall cast four rings of gold for it, and fix them at its four corners, with two rings on one side of it and two rings on the other side. 13 And you shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. 14 And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, so as to carry the ark with them. 15 The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it. 16 And you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I shall give to you. 17 And you shall make a mercy-seat of pure gold; its length is to be two and a half cubits, and its breadth one and a half cubits. 18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; you shall make them of hammered work, out of the two ends of the mercy-seat. 19 And you shall make one cherub out of one end, and one cherub out of the other end; you shall make the cherubim as a part of the mercy-seat at its two ends. 20 And the cherubim shall have their wings stretched upwards, covering the mercy-seat with their wings, with their faces towards one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be towards the mercy-seat. 21 And you shall put the mercy-seat on top of the ark; and you shall put into the ark the Testimony which I shall give to you. 22 And I will meet with you there; and from above the mercy-seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, I will tell you all that I command you for the sons of Israel.

23 And you shall make a table of acacia wood; its length is to be two cubits, its breadth a cubit, and its height one and a half cubits. 24 And you shall overlay it with pure gold, and make a rim of gold all round it. 25 And you shall make a border of a hand's breadth all round it, and a rim of gold all round its border. 26 And you shall make four rings of gold for it, and fix the rings at the four corners by its four feet.

27 The rings shall be close to the border, as housings for the poles to carry the table. 28 And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with them. 29 And you shall make its dishes, its cups, its jars, and its bowls for pouring into; you shall make them of pure gold. 30 And you shall put the bread of the Presence on the table, to be continually before my face.

31 And you shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The shaft of the central branch of the lampstand shall be made of hammered work; its cups, its pomegranates, and its flowers shall be fashioned from it. 32 And six branches shall stem from its sides, three branches of the lampstand from one side of it, and three branches of the lampstand from the other side of it, 33 with three almond-shaped cups on one branch, with a pomegranate and a flower, and three almond-shaped cups on the other branch, with a pomegranate and a flower-the same for the six branches stemming from the lampstand. 34 And on the lampstand there shall be four almond-shaped cups, with their pomegranates and flowers, 35 with a pomegranate under the first two branches of it, and a pomegranate under the second two branches, and a pomegranate under the third two branches, for the six branches stemming from the lamp-stand. 36 The pomegranates and the branches shall be fashioned from it; all of it shall be one piece of hammered work of pure gold. 37 And you shall make the seven lamps for it; and when its lamps are lit, it shall shed light directly in front of it. 38 And its snuffers and fire-pans shall be of pure gold. 39 It shall be made from a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils. 40 And see that you make them in accordance with the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.
