EXODUS 26

Now you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and violet and purple, and double-dyed scarlet; you shall make them with a pattern of cherubim worked by a designer. 2 The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall have the same measurements. 3 Five of the curtains shall be joined together to one another; and the other five curtains shall be joined together in the same way. 4 And you shall make loops of violet at the edge of the first curtain at the end of one set; and you shall do the same at the edge of the end curtain in the second set. 5 You shall make fifty loops on the one curtain, and you shall make fifty loops at the end of the curtain which is in the second set; the loops shall coincide with each other. 6 And you shall make fifty clasps of gold, and join the curtains to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle may be one.

7 And you shall make curtains of goats' hair to be a tent over the tabernacle; you shall make eleven curtains. 8 The length of each curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain shall be four cubits; the eleven curtains shall have the same measurements. 9 And you shall join five of the curtains together, and six of the curtains together; and you shall double over the sixth curtain at the front of the tent. 10 And you shall make fifty loops at the edge of the first curtain, the end one in the first set, and fifty loops at the edge of the end curtain of the second set.

11 And you shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and join the tent together, so that it may be one. 12 And the part that is left over of the curtains of the tent (the half curtain that is left over) shall hang over the back of the tabernacle. 13 And the cubit on the one side and the cubit on the other, which are left over in the length of the curtain of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on each side, so as to cover it. 14 And you shall make a covering of red rams' skins for the tent, and a covering of badgers skins above that.

15 And you shall make the supports for the tabernacle of acacia wood, to stand upright. 16 The length of each support shall be ten cubits, and the breadth of each support one and a half cubits. 17 There shall be two tenons* to each support, joined to one another; you shall make all the supports of the tabernacle the same. 18 And you shall make the supports for the tabernacle: twenty supports for the south side, on the right; 19 and you shall make forty bases of silver under the twenty supports, two bases under one support for its two tenons and two bases under the other support for its two tenons. 20 And for the second side of the tabernacle, for the north side, you shall make twenty supports, 21 with their forty bases of silver, two bases under one support and two bases under the other support. 22 And for the two rear parts of the tabernacle on the west you shall make six supports. 23 And you shall make two supports for the corners of the tabernacle, for the two rear parts; 24 and they shall be paired at the bottom, and they shall be coupled together at the top of it to one ring; it shall be the same for them both; they shall be for the two corners. 25 So there shall be eight supports with their bases of silver, sixteen bases in all-two bases under one support and two bases under the other support. * lit hands

26 And you shall make bars of acacia wood, five bars for the supports of the one side of the tabernacle, 27 and five bars for the supports of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the supports of the side of the tabernacle, for the two rear parts on the west. 28 And the middle bar shall pass through the middle of the supports from end to end. 29 And you shall overlay the supports with gold, and shall make rings of gold for them, as housings for the bars; and you shall overlay the bars with gold. 30 And you shall set up the tabernacle according to the plan for it which has been shown you on the mountain.

31 And you shall make a veil of violet and purple and double-dyed scarlet, and fine twined linen; it shall be the work of a designer, who shall make it with a pattern of cherubim. 32 And you shall hang it on four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold; they shall stand on four bases of silver. 33 And you shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and there within the veil you shall place the ark of the Testimony; and the veil shall separate for you the sanctuary from the Holy of Holies. 34 And you shall put the mercy-seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Holy of Holies. 35 And you shall place the table outside the veil, with the lampstand opposite the table at the side of the tabernacle on the south; and you shall put the table on the north side.

36 And you shall make a screen for the door of the tent, of violet and purple and double-dyed scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer. 37 And you shall make for the screen five pillars of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold; and you shall cast five bases of bronze for them.
